This project was in Yorktown, NY, and the homeowner asked us to refinish the front door. The door had been originally finished when installed, but it was beginning to fade since it hadn’t been refinished in a few years.
Door Refinishing Process
To start the front door refinishing, we cleaned the door with mineral spirits and applied the mahogany stain. Next, we applied a clear coat to the door to help restore it to it’s original condition. We also prepared and painted the door frame with a Benjamin Moore white paint. Because drying time was necessary between coats, the project took two trips to the work-site to complete.
Products Used:
- ThermaTru Stain– Mahogany
- Benjamin Moore Mooreglo– Brilliant White
