5-Year Residential Painting Warranty

Residential painting projects should come with clear expectations after the final walkthrough. This page explains the premium residential workmanship warranty, common exclusions, and how to request a review.

Residential Scope

This page describes A.G. Williams Painting Company's premium residential painting workmanship warranty. The specific warranty for any project is the coverage written into that project's proposal or agreement.

For eligible residential painting work, if you notice a covered paint failure such as peeling, blistering, or flaking within five years of completion, A.G. Williams will review the condition and determine the appropriate next step.

What's Covered

When a covered workmanship issue is confirmed, A.G. Williams will return to:

  • Assess the issue
  • Supply all necessary labor and materials
  • Correct the problem at no cost to you

The warranty is designed to support the workmanship behind eligible residential painting projects while keeping the project proposal as the source of truth.

What's Not Covered

While our craftsmanship is built to last, some issues are beyond the scope of paint and of our warranty. Our 5-Year Painting Warranty does not cover:

  • Consequential or incidental damages arising from accidents, abuse, temperature fluctuations, structural settlement, or moisture-related issues.
  • Cracks or nail pops in surfaces, even if properly prepared at the time of the job, as these can result from natural expansion, contraction, settling, or structural shifts.
  • Discoloration due to dirt, pollutants, rust, mold, mildew, or other particles.
  • Horizontal surfaces, such as but not limited to: Deck and porch floors Top rails Window sills and door sills
  • Concrete floor coatings, which are covered under a separate warranty.
  • Faux finishes, wallpaper installation, and carpentry work, while these services are not included in the 5-year warranty, we welcome you to contact us with any concerns related to these projects.

We take great care to prep cracks properly before painting, but due to environmental and structural forces, they're not warrantied after the fact. That said, if you experience any issues related to these services, A.G. Williams is always happy to help. A member of our team can visit the site, evaluate the situation, and offer recommendations on how best to proceed. While this does not imply liability or warranty coverage, we're committed to ensuring you feel supported long after the work is complete.

Additional Terms

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser of our services. The warranty length and terms listed here represent our premium residential painting warranty. Some projects may carry a different warranty term based on the scope of work, materials selected, or project specifications, as noted in your original proposal. Your proposal will always state the specific warranty coverage for your project.

Why It Matters

When you hire A.G. Williams, you're choosing a company that has stood by its work for over 100 years, and continues to do so with confidence. Our warranty isn't just a promise; it's a reflection of our standards.
