A.G. Williams Painting Company is proud to celebrate George Williams Jr., who was recognized asa 2017 Wunderkind by 914INC. Magazine. Each year, the publication honors rising professionals under the age of 30 who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, and impact within the Westchester business community.

George Williams Jr. was one of just 23 honorees recognized at an awards celebration held at Mamaroneck Beach & Yacht Club, joining an accomplished group of young leaders shaping the future of local business.

Growing the Next Generation at A.G. Williams Painting Company

George Williams Jr. joined A.G. Williams Painting Company in 2012 as Human Resources Coordinator, bringing a fresh perspective to the company’s people-first culture. In that role, he led the evolution and expansion of the HR department, strengthening internal systems while preserving the values that have guided the company for more than a century.

His contributions included updating employee handbooks, creating a structured new-hire orientation program, and launching the A.G. Williams Training Program. This program helps new painters refine their skills while carrying forward the craftsmanship and techniques passed down through generations of A.G. Williams professionals. During this time, George also played a key role in growing the workforce, hiring more than 30 employees and improving employee retention across seasonal cycles.

Leadership, Safety, and Operational Excellence

In 2017, at just 27 years old, George Williams Jr. was promoted to Director of Inside Operations. In this leadership role, he took on responsibility for recruitment initiatives, facilitated company leadership meetings, and continued to advance training and professional development programs.

One of his most impactful achievements was leading the implementation of the A.G. Williams Safety Program. This initiative strengthened jobsite safety standards across residential and commercial projects, resulting in an average annual savings of approximately $60,000 in workers’ compensation costs. The program also earned A.G. Williams Painting Company the Safety Bronze Award from Summit Services, a national consulting group focused on best practices within the painting industry.

Commitment Beyond the Jobsite

George’s impact extends well beyond company operations. He remains deeply involved in the local community, serving as Assistant Freshman Baseball Coach at Iona Preparatory School, working as an instructor at TM Baseball & Softball Training Academy, and founding a Young Professionals in Family Businesses networking group.

He has also supported many of A.G. Williams Painting Company’s charitable initiatives, includingSupport Connection,March of Dimes,Friends of the Scarsdale Library Spelling Bee,Elizabeth’s Hope,Her Haven, andthe Rye YMCA. This dedication reflects the company’s longstanding belief that strong businesses are built through community involvement and service.

A Proud Family Legacy

George Williams Jr. joins a growing list of Wunderkind honorees from A.G. Williams Painting Company. In 2011, Paul Viggiano, Director of Marketing and Business Administration, also received the distinction, underscoring the depth of leadership within the organization.
